This is a Wide Belly Mantis, or sometimes called the Asian Giant Mantis, it’s scientific name is Hierodula patellifera. In the wild, it’s coloration can vary from green to brown and is considered very large for the mantis family.This real Praying Mantis in resin is an excellent teaching tool. Mantis are absolutely amazing with their triangular heads, bulging eyes and extremely flexible necks. You can see every detail of this interesting insect through the crystal clear resin.As with all natural specimens, size, coloration and positioning can vary slightly.
